Netherlands Research School of Gender Studies (NOG)
The Netherlands Research School of Gender Studies (NOG) at Utrecht University (The Netherlands) provides a national platform for gender research and teaching by faculty members from various Dutch universities. It offers a highly successful training programme and environment for national and international postgraduate and PhD students since 1995. The NOG teaching and research staff consists of an international team of professors and senior lecturers. It offers one of Europe’s most advanced interdisciplinary teaching and research programmes in the humanities, with a core curriculum on feminist theory, issues of difference and diversity, gender, postcolonialism, and multiculturalism. NOG’s mission is to create an academic community in the Netherlands in which feminist and postcolonial research can be optimally pursued, as well as to educate the next generation of researchers with an open mind toward 1. new disciplinary and interdisciplinary developments, 2. different theoretical and methodological approaches, and 3. applications of scientific results in society and connect academy and activism.
